BIOGRAPHY :

Not only was he a shoemaker, but also his beautiful voice could be heard in the church of Baigorry for years. He sang his bertsus, face to face with Etxahun or Otxalde for instance, though he was much younger than them ; and he often took part in the Flower Games that were just beginning at the time ; he won a lot of prizes among which the first one twice.

  • Bildots ait'amez gabetua, (the lamb who had lost his parents), (1890),
  • Itsua eta sastrea, (the blind and the net), (1892)
  • Sotoko oporra, (the glass from the cellar),
  • Mitxelengo zubian, (on the St Michel bridge)
  • Madalen Sarako martira, (the martyr Madalen from Sare),  (1895),
  • Aitaso baten solasak bere ilobaso xumeari, (words from a grandfather to his grandson), (1896).
