BIOGRAPHY :

According to the songs he wrote,  he led a rather sad life. When he was seventeen he fell in love with the housemaid. She happened to be pregnant but Etxahun's parents forbade him marrying her if he wanted to keep his birthright....

So he married a woman he wasn't in love with and the two of them didn't get on very well. Moreover, his wife took a lover. Etxahun was accused of threatening him and had to go to jail. He then undertook long pilgrimages, for instance to Rome.

Etxahun's bertsus are very quick and sharp, full of scoff and provocations. Nowadays people learn and sing them one generation after the other.
Cursed at his time, he is today praised in the world of bertsularism.
